Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is one of the most ambitious smartphone games launched this year. However, many gamers have not been happy with its performance since day one. It has been called one of the most demanding smartphone video games of recent times, and this is mainly due to the lack of performance, especially on entry-level and mid-range smartphones.

To address this issue, Activision, the developer and publisher of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile (WZM), has now published the revised minimum specifications requirement for the game. This also means that your current phone might no longer be compatible with Warzone Mobile.

According to Activision, “The minimum device specifications for WZM needed to be increased for future updates and integrations with the Call of Duty franchise to meet our high standards of performance while providing a best-in-class gameplay experience.”

More than 1,000 smartphones will lose access to WZM post-update, including devices with the following GPUs. This indicates that many mid-range Android smartphones powered by Qualcomm and MediaTek chips will soon become incompatible with the game. Some of these chip are:

To play Warzone Mobile, one needs a smartphone running on Android 13, iOS 17, or newer versions. The device also needs a GPU capable of bindless texturing. The latest update, which includes Season 01 and beyond, will come into effect on November 14.

Users with unsupported devices can continue to play the game (version 3.10) until May 5, 2025, at which point it will automatically stop working.

Considering the stringent requirement, even on some mid-range smartphones with supported graphics and OS, the game might not offer the best possible performance, so one might need a newly released high-end Android smartphone.

This isn’t a big deal for iPhone users, as most modern iPhones will continue to support the game, which is currently on the latest version of iOS.
